Chatting is the quickest way to talk with other players. In addition to basic communication, a number of other functions can be executed through the chat window.
To use the chat system, click on the speech bubble above the chat window or press the Space Bar once and begin typing your message. To send the message, press Enter. If a message is not been written, pressing Enter will close the chat box.
By default, the chat messages will be set to "Say" and will broadcast to the players around you. There are a number of other chat channels, as well as ways to switch between channels. With the chat window enabled, clicking the left and right arrow icons will scroll through "Say", "Party", and "Guild Say." A full list of all channels are listed below.

Additionally, players can either click on the player to send a message to and then choose [Whisper] or select a character from your friend list and select [Whisper].

|/ttell||/tt||Send a message to only the currently targeted character.|
|/guildsay||/gs||Send a message to all of the members of the character's guild.|

Players may wish to filter the different chat channels that appears in their chat window. To do this, clicking on the left and right facing arrows next to "All" will scroll through the different filter settings. Finally, additional chat settings can be modified in the Communication Settings menu found in the Main Menu under Communication > Communication Settings.
The Desk in the character's quarters is used to send mail in Dynasty Warriors Online.
The mail system in Dynasty Warriors Online is a handy way to communicate with your offline friends. By interacting with the desk, players can check their inbox, outbox, and send mail to players on their friends list. Players can even send items through mail. Mail cannot be sent to other players in other servers or factions.
Emotes are a fun way of expressing yourself! Dynasty Warriors Online has lots of emotes to help show how you feel.
Using emotes in Dynasty Warriors Online is simple! Simply bring up the chat box by pressing the Space Bar and type in the command. Hit the Enter key to execute the emote. A full list of all emotes currently available in game are as follows:
